Thinking Aloud - Part 2
As a result of some recent changes in my studio/living space, I've been thinking a lot about what's in it and what I need.
Time to re-evaluate, clean, purge and redesign.
Before I go off the deep end, I'm going to tackle it like any other creative project.
Research - Look through my notebooks, Pinterest boards and magazines showcasing living and working spaces.
The next step for me will be harder. Going through my goals, needs, wishes & dreams. It's a big list. While my initial instinct is to want it all, right now, it's not possible. So flexibility and matching up my needs to help fulfill my goals for the next year will help me bring it into scope.
There's a couple of ways to go from here: clean it out OR design time. Both steps are valid paths to travel on. Cleaning out lightens up the space, frees energy and might inspire some design of the space. On the other hand, creating the design will provide the framework and the rules for what needs to go along with some serious budgeting. Whichever way I choose, this will happen during the process.
Implementation. Making the dream a reality. If this were a TV show, I'd go off on a trip for a l-o-n-g weekend, come back and voila - the elves would have created my perfect space. Since Nate & Peter are busy with other projects, I'll be my own client. How you say? By stepping out of myself and treating my space as someone else's. Which in reality it is - my future creative self who will benefit from the changes, repairs & upgrades.
Time to get started…
